Earlier this month, automotive giants gathered in Las Vegas to show off their latest and greatest innovations at the 2011 SEMA Show. Hyundai unveiled five different models of the 2012 Veloster, one of which was a sleek rally car, the ARK Performance Veloster.

Hyundai and ARK Performance teamed up to create the sporty variant. The ARK Veloster debuted at the SEMA show with a custom twin-scroll turbocharger to augment the 1.6-liter engine, boosting the power output to 210 hp. The eye-catching grey and green paint scheme complemented the upgraded front lip, side skirts, rear bumper and wide front grille and rear fenders. And, the completely reupholstered interior featured a sportier dash, new floor mats, shifting knob and racing pedals.

Aiming to bridge the gap between performance cars and affordability, Ted Lee, owner, ARK Performance, Inc., says, "The Hyundai Veloster is an ideal car for enthusiasts with its distinctive design and dynamic architecture." He went on to say, "From the first Tiburon, to the Genesis Coupe, and now with the Veloster, ARK Performance continues to uphold the torch as the pioneer of aftermarket performance manufacturing for Hyundai."¹

Though this version of the Veloster received the greatest overhaul, other variants at the show included a Remix Music version with a Fender Stratocaster guitar mounted on the headliner and a high-powered audio system. The Remix Gaming variant featured an Xbox 360 console, and lastly the PM Lifestyle Custom, which featured carbon fiber replacements for the hood and hatch. Hyundai has also promised another reworked Veloster, which will premiere at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, in Detroit.
