1. Purdy’s Coffee Co.
This beautifully decorated, modern facility is the perfect stop for a variety of traditional and specialty coffee as well as peaceful music. Try the Russian Sawmill, the kombucha, the black and white mocha, or a flavored latte, just to name a few. If cold coffee is what you’re looking for, try the cold brew or the frappe. If you have the kiddos with you, they’ll like a chocolate milk or a frozen hot chocolate.
They also have tasty fruit smoothies. Try strawberry, blueberry, or banana. Feeling hungry? They serve breakfast and lunch items, such as a country ham biscuit, bagel and cream cheese, a yogurt and granola parfait, a quiche Lorraine, and an array of salads and sandwiches. They are located at 444 Big Hill Ave. and they are open every day with the exception of Sunday.
2. Java City
Located on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University, Java City is where you want to be if you’re a college student. Bring your laptop and get some of those reading assignments done while you enjoy a drip coffee, an organic tea, a chai latte, an iced coffee, or an iced tea.
The prices are affordable and the service is friendly. Note that they are closed during the summer months when college is out. Otherwise, they are open Monday through Friday. Java City is located at 457 University Dr.
3. Bespoke Bakery and Café
The goal of this cafe is to provide a place where you can sip on a coffee or espresso while enjoying one of their fabulous homemade cupcakes, brownies, tarts, and more. Come in the store and browse their display case, order a beverage, and sit at one of the tables located just outside of the store in the mall.
They serve a variety of coffee drinks and they have several flavors of syrup that you can add to your beverage. Find this cafe at 830 Eastern Bypass. They are open Tuesday through Saturday.
