Fort Boonsborough State Park
Fort Boonsborough was founded by Daniel Boone in 1775 and has been lovingly renovated into a living history site. History buffs, kids, and nature lovers will all find something to enjoy here. When you visit the fort you can see potters, blacksmiths, and other artisans practicing their craft using the tools and technology of this bygone era.
The fort contains an assortment of bunkhouses, cabins, and period furnishings. You can also visit the museum or learn about the locks and the dam on the river. A campsite is available at very reasonable rates, and you can choose between pitching a tent or opting for an RV site with electricity, water, and sewerage hookups. Adventure Falls Miniature Golf and Batting Cages
Mini golf is a fun game that the whole family can enjoy, as it’s suitable for all ages and abilities. Adventure Falls features an 18-hole professionally-designed course. In addition, the first 9-holes are ADA-accessible. While you wait your turn to putt, you can enjoy the views of beautiful Lake Reba.
If you prefer batting, there are eight batting cages where you can practice baseball, fast-pitch softball, or slow-pitch softball. Paradise Cove Aquatic Center
Paradise opened in 2008, and it’s packed with water activities. The feature pool has zero depth entry and a kid’s play structure with a climbing net, water sprays, and a dumping bucket. Younger kids can safely enjoy the 18″ pool with its slide. Older kids will be thrilled with a family water slide, whirlpool, and pools with depths of 0″ to 40″ depths.
You can also enjoy two 40′ slides, one is spiral, and the other is vertical. You can relax in the shade or enjoy the comfortable lounge chair when you need to catch your breath. Paradise is located at 274 Lake Reba Drive, Richmond.
