2. Powertrain

The base Elantra has a 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder engine with a multi-point fuel injection system that produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is paired with standard front-wheel drive, idle stop/go technology, and a Smartstream intelligent variable transmission. The base trim also has three selectable drive modes (Smart, Sport, and Normal). 

If you opt for the N Line trim, the powertrain configuration consists of a 1.6-liter in-line four-cylinder engine with a gasoline direct injection system that generates 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. 

3. Exterior Lighting

The SE has LED daytime running lights, bulb-type taillights, automatic headlight control, and dual LED projector headlights as standard features. The Limited and N Line trims upgrade the taillights to LED/bulb-type lights.

4. Convenience

The base Elantra has plenty of impressive standard convenience features, such as solar glass, dual USB-C charging ports, manual climate controls, and a tilting-telescopic steering wheel column. This model comes with remote keyless entry, automatic driver’s side power windows, and a 4.2-inch digital gauge cluster. 

5. Seating
