Partly. The 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty covers the original owner only, and later owners get powertrain coverage for 5 years/60,000 miles from the original in-service date. Electric Vehicles & Hybrids

What types of electrified Hyundais are available?

Hyundai offers electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and hybrids. Browse our Hyundai EVs or visit our EV Hub to compare your options.

Do Hyundai hybrids need to be plugged in?

No. A Hyundai hybrid's battery is recharged only by its regenerative brakes, so there's no need to plug in. Hybrids use their gas engine and electric motor separately or together, depending on speed.

How does a Hyundai plug-in hybrid work?

A Hyundai plug-in hybrid has a battery-powered motor and a gas engine, with a bigger battery than a hybrid, so you can drive in all-electric mode. You recharge the battery from an electrical outlet, and regenerative braking helps extend driving range.

How do I charge a Hyundai EV at home?

Level 1 home charging plugs into a standard 120V outlet using the portable charging cable that comes with select Hyundai models. For faster charging, Hyundai Home offers a 240-volt Level 2 charger. Learn more on our EV charging page.

Do electric vehicles need oil changes?

No. Electric vehicles have no transmission and need zero oil changes, and their simpler powertrains have fewer moving parts. See our EV Hub for more.
